Reiki Drumming at The Blue Butterfly
🥁 Reiki Drumming
Rhythm, stillness and connection
Reiki Drumming brings together two practices that have been an important part of my own journey: Usui Reiki and the drum.
The steady rhythm of the drum creates a gentle, immersive experience, while Reiki offers a quiet space for rest and stillness.
Together, they provide an opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life, settle into the rhythm and reconnect with yourself.
You don't need any previous experience with Reiki or drumming.
You don't need to be spiritual.
You simply need to be comfortable, curious and open to experiencing it for yourself.
What is Reiki Drumming?
Reiki Drumming combines Reiki with the sound and vibration of the drum.
During a session, I use the drum in a gentle and rhythmic way alongside Reiki, creating an experience that can feel very different from a traditional Reiki session.
The rhythm may provide a focus for your attention, helping you settle into the moment and become aware of your breathing, thoughts and sensations.
Some people find the experience deeply relaxing. Others enjoy the rhythm, vibration or sense of immersion.
There is no particular experience you are supposed to have.
You simply listen, notice and allow yourself to be present.
What happens during a session?
We'll begin with a little time to talk about how you're feeling and what you'd like from your session.
You'll then make yourself comfortable, usually lying down or sitting.
I'll use the drum around you, creating different rhythms and sounds, while incorporating Reiki into the session.
There may be periods of gentle drumming followed by moments of quiet and stillness.
You might notice:
rhythm • vibration • relaxation • stillness • emotion • warmth • imagery
Or you may simply enjoy having some uninterrupted time to yourself.
There is no right or wrong experience.
A different way to pause
Sometimes talking isn't what we need.
Sometimes we need to stop thinking and simply experience something.
The rhythm of a drum can give your attention somewhere to rest.
For a while, there is nothing you need to achieve.
Just:
Listen.
Breathe.
Feel.
Be.
Reiki Drumming with Ceri
I've practised Reiki for many years and have also developed a deep connection with drumming through my work with both community and shamanic-inspired drumming.
Reiki Drumming brings these two parts of my practice together.
My approach is gentle, intuitive and always centred around creating a comfortable experience for you.
I don't tell you what your experience means or what you should feel.
You get to experience it in your own way.

Is Reiki Drumming for you?
You don't need to have drummed before.
You don't need previous Reiki experience.
You don't need to consider yourself spiritual.
Men and women are welcome.
And you don't need to know exactly what you're looking for.
If you're curious about experiencing Reiki in a different way, I'd love to welcome you.
Reiki Drumming is not the same as my Shamanic Drumming
This is actually worth putting on the page because of the way you're developing The Blue Butterfly.
Reiki Drumming is a private, one-to-one practice combining Reiki with the rhythm and vibration of the drum.
My Shamanic-Inspired Drumming Circles are a separate experience and may include guided journeying, intention, nature connection and ritual.
And my Community Drum Circles are completely different again — they're about rhythm, music, connection and having fun together, with no shamanic element.
You can choose the experience that feels right for you.
